“Livestock and Pasture Development Project”

Goals
The development goal of the Project is to contribute to the reduction of poverty in districts of Khatlon region including Temurmalik, Khovaling, Baljuvon, Muminobod and Shamsiddin Shohin districts. Project’s main purpose is to increase the nutritional status and incomes of 22,400 poor households by enhancing livestock productivity and efficient pasture management in a sustainable manner. In accordance with the Agreement conditions the Project completion date is scheduled as of August 5, 2017.   

Objectives
The Project goal is to contribute to the reduction of poverty in its targeted districts. Its main purpose is to increase the incomes of 22,400 poor households by enhancing livestock productivity in a sustainable manner. The outcomes expected from its implementation include the following: (i) enhanced livestock productivity and production; (ii) enhanced productive capacity of pastures; and (iii) increase in women’s ability to process and market livestock products.

Project consists of three principal inter-related components as well as the required support for Project management:

1. Institutional Development: 
а) Development of Community Organisations;
b) Institutional Strengthening.

2. Livestock and Pasture Development:
а) Strengthening Private Sector Services;
b) Improving Pasture Management.
3. Income Generation for Women;
4. Project Management.
