Presentation of Abu Dhabi and Australia visits to PMU staff


In order to increase knowledge and practical skills, the Project specialists have visited Abu Dhabi and Australia to participate in the international seminars. The given events have been organized and recommended by IFAD. Afterwards, the results of above mentioned workshops were introduced to Project staff in PMU Dushanbe-based office. First of all Turakul Murodov has informed participants on results of workshop that was held in Australia. It was noted that the Australian Government is one of the largest product exporter countries. The objective of participation in workshop was to improve the knowledge and skills related to the pasture management and livestock development. Participants were informed about agricultural sector data of Queensland state. In particular, it was noted that 80% of Queensland land is used for agricultural means of production and pastures. Queensland is considered one of the meat products exporter States that exports to 47 countries. Turakul Murodov noted that has visited demonstration plots. Especially has owned best practices in the field of efficient use of water resources for lands irrigation, best practices cultivation of leguminous plants, crops direct seeding, usage of GPS and modern technology of monitoring and evaluation, etc., which may be used in the course of implementation of “Livestock and Pasture Development Project”.

Then, Farukh Azimov has informed participants on the results of the official visit to Abu Dhabi, where an international training workshop was held on “Procurement Principles - Procurement Planning and Reviews and No-objections”. It was noted that mainly issues on priorities, specifications and forms of within the implementation of IFAD funded projects were discussed in this event. Taking into account the specific features of the procurement plan and its implementation, Farukh Azimov has provided detail information to attendees.
