Project Steering Committee meeting


The Project Steering Committee meeting was conducted at the State Enterprise “Project Management Unit “Livestock and Pasture Development” on December 26, 2016. The meeting was attended by the Committee delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Finance, State Committee on Investments and State Property Management and other relevant agencies. The meeting was opened by Chairman of Steering Committee - Deputy Minister of Agriculture Mr. N. Musoev, thus noting that state investment projects are being implemented reasonably and effectively. Chairman of the Governing Committee has appreciated completion of “Khatlon Livelihoods Support Project” implementation - significant indicator in Project targeted.

The PMU Director Mr. Sadi Karimov has noted the investment projects are being implemented with the support provided by the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and IFAD. The PMU Director expressed that based on instructions and assingments of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon Project activities have been conducted for livestock development, supply of agricultural machinery and equipment, rural infrastructure development and improving living condition of rural population.

The PMU Chief Accountant Mr. A. Khojaev has informed meeting attendees on Projects disbursement and noted that in 11 months of this year the “Livestock and Pasture Development” first phase has made 91,2%. Also has infooprmed on allocated funds for the second phase “Livestock and Pasture Development” implementation and their usage mechanisms in accordance with the requirements of the Financing Agreement.

The Project Coordinator Mr. T. Murodov has briefly informed on the results of the first phase of the Project and noted that 23841 households have benefited from the project, which more than planned indicators. 267 sub-project were fully implemented and other proposed sub-projects are in the implementation process.

The PMU Economic Consultant Mr. N.Xolov has provided information on second phase of project implementation and noted that the Project will cover 38000 households.

At the end the Steering Committee has appraised the PMU activities as a satisfactory and approved the Project budget for 2017.
