Provision of Devashtich district farmers with tractors and agricultural equipment and handing over infrastructural facilities

With the participation of Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Ziyozoda Sulaimon Rizoi, Chairman of Sughd Region Mr. Rajabboy Ahmadzoda and Director of the State Enterprise “Project Management Unit “Livestock and Pasture Development” Mr. Abdulahad Khojazoda, the farmers of targeted Village Organizations in Devashtich district were provided with 13 tractors,  1 excavator and 29 agricultural equipment under the implementation of “Community-based Agricultural Support Project” (CASP) on June 21, 2022. 01

The main goal of providing farmers with agricultural machinery and equipment is to ensure efficient use of arable lands, timely sow and harvest agricultural crops, improve meliorative condition of lands, thus obtaining more than two or three harvests per year.

At the same time, in order to irrigate, turn unusable lands into agricultural use, provide population with drinking water, as well as efficient and economical use of natural resources in Khushtoiri Mukhlon, Gulshan and Panjbog villages, infrastructural facilities have been handed over to provide clean water for population. As a result, irrigation of more than 32 ha of agricultural lands will be improved, and more than 640 households provided with drinking water.

The activities carried out under CASP will contribute to achieving one of the main strategic goals of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan - ensuring food security in the country.

It should be noted that CASP is funded by the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the International Fund for Agricultural Development and implemented by the State Enterprise “Project Management Unit “livestock and Pasture Development” in cities and districts of Sughd and Khatlon regions and Regions of Republican Subordination, including Devashtich district.
